Someday we'll look back on this moment and plow into a parked car. -- Evan Davis
Or another doesn't open, find a window!
This has started to be my life story this past weekend when the front end of my car tasted the back end of another...
Saturday started out as an ordinary day, sleeping in, laying around and sipping on some coffee with french vanilla syrup (Delicious). But then it become un-ordinary, I then get the call to be invited to goto the OU game down in Norman, sweet! That's not all, we're going to be in an ESPN box.. sweeter.
We meet up in Edmond and it was time to see who was going to drive. "You want to drive, Spencer?". Let's see, I love driving soo.. Yup.
The drive down was like any other drive down to Norman except for when we entered into Moore and the dreaded stop and go OU game day traffic brought everything to a screeching halt.
Being in the far left lane (like a thousand other Oklahomana), I want to get out of it seeing as though it was now the slowest lane on the highway. My lane starts to move, I take the opportunity to look to my right (poor decision), my friend yells look out, turn around and slam my breaks to no prevail.. my body jolts forward and I have just had my first wreck.
The nice brand new Ford Edge and I pull off to the left side of the highway. I immediately get out to go check and make sure they are okay (at this point my heart is located somewhere around my stomach). As I approach their car, she is already on the phone. She gets off the phone and looks at me, "I just called the cops." she said. My first reaction in my head? "Woah woah woah! It was an accident!", thinking she had called them to arrest me (I was a little distorted and confused). "We're gonna need them to help us get back on the highway.". Oh, that makes sense..
As I'm walking back to my car I see something, "What's all that under my car?", I thought to myself. When get down and look under, "Yup, that's a giant pile of oil.". My bumper had gone inwards like a V and busted up quite a few things, most noticeably, my oil filter.
Long story short, cop shows up and tells me I'm gonna need a wrecker, and hands me a nice little envelope with a bill for following too close. And let me tell you, following too close.. it's expensive.
Everyone who was involved was okay, except for my car. This wasn't one of those, "You should see the other guy moments." either. That Edge had a couple black scuffs on it while my car looks like this:
Needless to say, it is time to find something that has less than 250k miles.
We had a good run Blaze. But it's time to part ways, seya around man.
